Jesse Prather Motorsports customers recorded six Divisional Championships, over 30 National race wins, three Runoffs podium finishes and a National Championship to close out the SCCA Club Racing 2011 season.

Three drivers earned Divisional Championships driving JPM-powered Mazda Miatas in F Production. Driving his brother Tom’s Miata, CHARLIE CAMPBELL drove to three wins in the Northeast Division to claim the Championship. Prior to the National Championship Runoffs at Road America in September, the Campbells took delivery of a brand new JPM-built engine, which propelled the Runoffs rookie to fifth on the grid and a third-place podium finish.

On the opposite coast, SEAN POWERS earned the Southern Pacific Division F Production title with three wins, edging out BRIAN LINN, who won each of his four starts. Powers also made his first trip to the Runoffs, improving six positions throughout the race to score a ninth-place finish.

Bridging the gap between coasts were a half dozen F Production Miatas that tallied a total of seven wins. BOB BRAMLAGE won the Midwest Division title as well as the new BFGoodrich Tires Super Tour points title in the small bore group off the strength of two wins. Bramlage earned his second-straight top-six Runoffs finish, after starting eighth. Former National Champion RICK HARRIS started the season strong with a pair of wins and a second, but had to end his season early as he changed jobs and moved from Kansas to Colorado. ERIC PRILL premiered a brand new Miata (built in the JPM race lab) in April and closed his season out with three-straight wins to finish a point behind Bramlage in the Midwest Division. He started and finished second at the Runoffs, turning the race’s fastest lap in the process.

KENT PRATHER went a perfect five-for-five en route to the GT-Lite Midwest Division Championship, capping the season with the pole and win at the National Championship Runoffs. It was Kent’s seventh Championship, and the fourth for the Miata that his son Jesse (JPM proprietor) drove to an E Production and a pair of F Production titles from 2006-2008. JIM STINEHELFER finished runner-up in the Midwest GT-Lite Championship, scoring one win. He finished ninth at the Runoffs.

A Mazda mixture of JPM customers had success in E Production throughout the year. CHARLIE CLARK finished runner-up in the Midwest Division, and splashed his way to a 16th place finish at the Runoffs from 22nd on the grid in his first-gen RX-7. BILL ALLMAN acquired a second-generation RX-7 and had a good season but missed out on racing due to the poor visibility. RICK KAVITSKI earned a win in his Miata and qualified 13th at the Runoffs before retiring early in the rain. JPM’s own JESSE PRATHER premiered the late-model MX-5 in E Production, scoring a pair of wins in it (and one in Ron Davis’ MGB). At the Runoffs, he improved from 14th to finish fifth.

BOB HERMAN scored four wins in his GT3 Mazda RX-7 to win the Midwest Division Championship.

At the American Road Race of Champions (ARRC) in November, BEN WOLF drove his Mazda RX-7 to the victory.

Congratulations to all of our customers and here’s to wishing everyone success in 2012!
